Potato pic, full zoom in the rain. I might have seen one or two of these on the road, but this one really stuck out.
Not because of the funny plates, or the door graphics. No, what shocked me was
that triangle
.
Which triangle, you may be asking.
Enhance:
See it?

What the fuck.
I mean, I get that they probably planned on selling most of them with a black roof, but this is the most jarringly-bad detail I can recall seeing in the last few years. Obviously they didn’t bother to mold in a witness line for masking, and just said “fuck it, paint the whole thing white. No one cares.”
Which, being a Nissan, they were probably right.

Things Nissan drivers don’t care about:
Cars
car maintenance
car styling
driving

you: “nissan, you can’t design anything worse!”

These small hatchbacks seem to be the epitome of cost cutting. The Ecosport’s non matching chrome in the taillights bother me deeply.

GasMe seems like a weird thing to put on the plate frame.

Yeah, but, I’m talking about
details
, here.

I know. I feel you.
This thing just kinda shocked me. Like it’s made by a plastic kayak company or something.

Well, they’re MX plates, so... lost in translation?

That chrome is the rear door handle. I'm ok with it.

IMHO doesnt excuse the fact you can see a difference at 100ft.

The whole thing is terrible.

Lol, nope. Just a car that had like a billion dollars invested.

These just piss me off for some reason. Like how stupid is a raised FWD only CUV. Nissan truly makes some trash cars.

Easy fix, they need to move on from the faux floating C-pillar fad that once again exposes many car designers as witless copycat sycophants.

The FUCK IT is strong with this one.

This is just the most craptastic thing I’ve seen on a car since the 80s.
OK, maybe the 90s.
Ok, maybe the 2000s.
But this might just hit the high point of fuckitism for the 2010s.

I'm ok with the asymmetry. And it's not like anybody really looks hard at an Ecosport anyway. It's entirely forgettable.

It's meant to make the roof appear to be floating.

I'd bet money that if the spoiler was removed the side panel would line up with the hatch glass.

You can just tell their designers are beat. They gave up on the fight and let price / engineering win.
Not saying these are perfect but you can tell they are not as cheap just by looking at them. I’d like to hope the consumer can too.

I’m at a supplier and I sometimes work on CMF (color, material, finishes). It bothers me, I’m sure it bothered some one at Ford. B ut it would have cost more to put a lens over the chrome like on the other side, so cost got in the way.
Be asymmetrical on purpose, not because you dont want to spend a dollar more per part.
